internet explorer 7..anyone gone back to ie6

IE7 keeps locking up on me.... usually only for up to 10 seconds but sometimes I have to reboot. It is driving me mad and I think I will go back to IE6 which never gave problems. A computer tech has said more risk of getting trojans in my system but my computer is stand alone and on ADSL. My puter knowledge is very limited.
Would be grateful for any comments.
