Mate, what do think a high a period of inflation causes?
Using interest rates as a tool to curb inflation is the best model that we have.
What would you suggest...leave interest rates where they are and let inflation run high?
How will that solve the problem?
Interest rates are going up, or staying up, until such time that domestic demand decreases. End of story.
