Thanks Touch for helping out with the facts & figures!
Google is a 4-5 year old co.
Revenue for Mar08 qtr = $5.18b, say $22b for year.
Eps of $4.2 for qtr, say $17 for year.
Trading at pe of 33.
Sp = US$545
237m shares.
Mkt cap = $129,000,000,000 (129B)
Revenue-factor is a simple rule of thumb, if EPS and pe are available.
TeeZee (new techco ipo) can get factor (revenue) of 10-20.
Google (5yr old on Nasd)
- 6 (x22b revenue= $129b, est MC)
Microsoft - 3
Adobe - 2
Textron -1
So if we adopt your facts and figures, we can get a good
est of the very big projected sp
""
So $50billion growing at 5% over the next several (lets say 5 years) means a market of $65billion by 2013.
Say we have 70million shares on issue
@3%= 1,950,000,000
4%= 2,600,000,000 ""
Speculator( David H) was not blowing the trumpet when he says $25 at ipo .
Of course all of us here want and believe ipo sp could be much higher.
Have fun!
