RUN DIPG-supported research has contributed to an upcoming, innovative DIPG trial. Dr Matt Dun's involvement with the team developing DMG-ACT (Diffuse Midline Glioma Adaptive Combination Trial) followed his invited presentation to the International DIPG Symposium in Sydney, 2019. His brief but impactful appearance saw him travel from Josie's bedside at John Hunter Children's Hospital, present his research findings on the combination therapy first prescribed to Josie (now to be studied in the DMG ACT trial), and then return back to Josie's side in a matter of hours. “We’ve developed a clinical trial protocol, with multiple arms, where we will use evidence from multiple labs to bring the best combination therapies forward,” explained Dr Sabine Mueller, pediatric neuro-oncologist of University of California, San Francisco and Clinical Program Head at DIPG Centre of Expertise in Zurich. The Michael Mosier Defeat DIPG Foundation and The ChadTough Foundation (also supporters of Dr Dun's research) share the latest news on the upcoming trial https://defeatdipg.org/innovative-dipg-trial-opening-soon/…
