4DS constitution specifies a role and tasks for a chairperson. So in many ways it has to be filled to comply with the company's constitution.
Other directors thought he has the clout to do the job, given the involvement for others (e.g.g JD) and willingness to seek and take advice, I reckon we'll be right.
4DS not selling to jo public customers - how he presents to us is irrelevant... He has significant experience taking companies on a journey from zero to hero. He's also an experienced lawyer so knows very well what to say / not say to the public - I'm sure very capable inside any closed door meeting.
i reckon these places are asking him for an interview (not the other way around). I wonder if it would look more negative if he said "no" and they printed a story saying that "chairman refused to comment / refused our interview request"... they may add no value right now, but a good way to hone the key messages
