The world isn't ready to run on renewables either but that hasn't stopped the world from pumping trillions of dollars into them (with the predictable consequences we are now seeing in Germany as a worst example).
The dollar amounts I am naming here are not hypothetical mate. It is actually happening right now! Regardless of what some experts might think about it.
And $278 Billion? That's a bargain! Compare that to the cost of replacing every single car and truck for an electric model, then building all the charging infrastructure to support it and then upgrading the entire power grid around the globe to being able to deal with the massively increased amounts power flowing through them...That will be many multiples of $278 Billion!
Really $278 Billion is low hanging fruit! Germany alone has spend $500 Billion Euros (at the time if spending considerably more valuable the dollars) over the last decades...and their carbon emissions have gone up!
So being able to cut worldwide emission by a whopping 8% for a mere $278 Billion is an brilliant deal, much cheaper than other alternatives! No wonder they are investing in it!
