I suggest being very careful putting order at the head of the queue. The HFT bots can read the system clock. So they will be able to stuff one side with orders and then pull them all 1 micro-second before the pre-open ends leaving you paying a hefty premium on buy orders or taking a considerable discount on sell orders.
