Yes, it would appear that the findings will evaluate whether biomarkers can help identify the molecular mechanisms of NNZ-2566. But its the potential for biomarkers to provide signals in relation to efficacy which creates the true tension in the presentation.
Its well to remember as the trial progresses past the half way point that the study outcome is of great clinical importance. Survival of patients or avoidance of irreversible disability is at stake. There is always the outlier that strong statistical evidence could warrant an early termination of the study.
