I'm in China at least 4 months a year and everyone (me included) is connected to WeChat at least 100% of the time.
WeChat is the name of the game - it runs China. If you're not on WeChat you don't exist. Much much more so than FB in the west.
The Chinese are very 'face' conscious and obsessed with association with glamorous products and people and WeChat is where you go to be seen.
WeChat is also pervasive right through Asia and forms the key business communications hub.
CM8 is a perfect complementary fit for WeChat, hand in glove, and needs to find some avenue to get onto/associated with WeChat asap come hook-or-by-crook, whatever it takes.
