I'm not at all surprised that switch to AWS is behind schedule for Intuit.
Remember Rods comment that even for XRO, it was like trying to change an engine whilst flying an airplane.
Compound that difficulty 10x due to Intuit being an inferior product not purpose built for the cloud, but rather a desktop software converted for the cloud, IE a band aid solution like putting lipstick on a pig.
The delay will be due to Intuit having to rewrite large chunks of source code to utilize AWS, and I don't know whether it would be preferable to start from scratch.
This is why being a leader in Australia is a huge competitive advantage. Since cloud penetration in the US is small, the testing and load balancing advantages of AWS that Xero will have are significant, and Intuit will be developing blind on assumption. IE Xero is pulling ahead of Intuit even without new product features.
