This post is such a head shaker, Mr Gordon. It's just so sad to think you have disengaged so much from reality to read the Bible as some literal play in which Jehovah Witness are the valiant heroes.
Satan and perfect Adam and Eve, Eden, what about reality, what about the people in your religion who are all no less perfect than the average Joe and Sharon.
It's symbolic, for heavens sake. It points out spiritual potential in a world of imperfect humans who are gradually becoming socially better and more integrated as a global society.
The 1000 years in this context is the Islamic religion, the bottomless pit is the pit of error, those who join Satan are the followers of Christendom and Islam who will persecute the returned Jesus and humanity will slowly become integrated as a global people, justice will be the order of the day, poverty and extremes of wealth will be controlled, etc, etc. There will never be perfect people and the Jehovah Witness who give it their best shot have proved that beyond any doubt.
Religion is a guidance for the real world, for real world situations, not some fantasy that reads like a child's bedtime story. You don't have long to go, Mr Gordon and this nonsense is not helping you.
