The point you miss is that if they want a home, a four wheel drive, modern food, alcohol, education for their kids, to hunt with a rifle and not a nulla nulla, to have a vote as to who best represents them, to travel, to have phones, radios, televisions .etc. they MUST move into mainstream society. That doesn't mean they have to forget their culture. (A lot of their "culture" has been developed in recent times and since 1788 by the way).
