As an expat New Zealander, I am perplexed by the way the custodians of this great land have been treated over more than a hundred years. If you had tried that on with the Maori, you would have gotten killed.
There is much to be learned and understood about both Maori and Aboriginal culture and the way in which they have lived and thrived in remote and inhospitable environments for far longer than our honkie asses have managed to date.
Celebrate this great land?…….Absolutely! But we need to appreciate and understand that January 26 isn’t appropriate. “40,000 years that makes a difference to the change of things”…….Midnight Oil.
