thats because we keep conservatives in power. and conservatives love making profits, not losses --- and giving money to poor people looks like a loss-making investment.
this last 9 years the Govt has been creating the conditions which promote homelessness. look at how the conditions/obligations for accessing welfare, and lets not leave out Robdebt, have caused incredible hardship while not improving the unemployment numbers.
now of course we have 4.2% unemployment..... after deleting those who only have a four hour shift once a week from the numbers. and also not counting all those who have been kicked off Newstart/"Jobseeker".
