Polynesian anthropology is way, way different to Aboriginal anthropology.
There are some similarities with Torres Strait people though.
The mainland Aboriginal never really became a society - just small groups living a nomadic existence until the British arrived.
If it had been the Spanish, not the British, aka Cortez the Killer, then we wouldn't even be discussing the subject.
