I disagree analysts reports are garbage. I think they provide a methodology to value a stock. From this one can look at the assumptions and alter them if they think they are too conservative or bullish, one can also add in own discounts for risks and value for opportunities. In the end I find analyst reports important as they factor things few retail investors do such as depreciation, tax and royalties, development costs etc etc. They also provide the basis for relative valuation. For example I find alot of HC posters would use a 1300 or 1500 pog to value the gold stock they hold whereas analysts will use 1000-1200. These differences result in massive valuation differences
PRU is a solid stock and I agree it is one of those stocks one can hold as an Inv and trade or both
