I agree (IMO) there is indeed a transaction afoot... my point is though that these matters cannot be allowed to linger on because (a) the company has other [really interesting] things to do than naval gaze ata prospective purchase (b) balance of shareholders will (for better or worse) build plans around a perceived logical transaction process and (c) increasingly as time passes the acquirer must be exposed to a move against them.
You are correct ... GDO has done better than many...that is not necessarily enough to conclude that they have done a great job...can we agree that they have done a better job?
Personally, I'd rather they get back to doing what they seemingly have done well... built a very good gold mining platform. But of course, profit is king in whatever form, shape or timetable!
