Investing for the long term

How many people are there on HC who have an investing mindset rather than only a trading mindset?

The market is heavily weighted towards trading... everybody seems locked into finding some sort of temporary miss-pricing and trading for the short term gain. But what about that seriously old fashioned idea of finding an early stage opportunity, buying and holding (with perhaps some tactical trading)?

My mindset is investing. So I am starting this thread with the hope others who think along the same lines will join in.
