    Great brr interview that I pinched from msb. Brilliant piece. I encourage all to view it. This is the key for me;

    How do you evaluate companies like this? I would say look at three factors. First of all, what's the market opportunity? We all know the scale, for example, of the obesity epidemic. In most countries, about 20% of the adult population are obese. Diabetes, for example, somewhere between 4% and 12% of the typical population has diabetes. These represent large market opportunities. It's generally a good idea to invest in companies that are pitching on a large market opportunity. Generally they'll have phase two data. That's mid-stage clinical data, not the large-scale trials you need towards the end of the clinical trial process, but there'll be enough evidence to suggest that the product is working. And finally, you need to have an idea what the regulatory pathways is, what it is that people like the Food and Drug Administration in the United States or the European Medicines Agency in Europe are looking for in order to have some confidence that the product will ultimately get approved.
