    This find was a good one too.

    The part that says you can only provide locally. Depends on the grade of graphite - if it's low end low margin dirt we're talking about - then I agree with the author. But the author ignored high end graphite. This cannot be moved easily (despite how much sunlight there is between your costs and sale price of high end graphite). It's not so much a cost of transportation and freighting issue and moreso to do with inability to move high grade graphite.

    Movements of high grade fine low boron graphite is restricted. Monitored. Authorised. Licensed. For the same reason movement of uranium is restricted. Monitored. Authorised. Licensed.

    I suppose the Syrians can now stop wondering why a plant is being built in the USA. Far easier to ship dirt across international borders is the reason. It means you don't have to contend with the headache called nuclear proliferation.
