I am looking at investing 50k and margin lending another 50k, even though I could spend more. I already have a portfolio made up of some blue chips, mid tier caps and some specks. Since my early days of trading I have made many mistakes and have gradually built up a reasonable portfolio by spreading my risk and building a larger position in blue chips and mid tiers. This has worked for me as I cannot look at the market every day and worrying what happens to all the spec stocks.
I currently hold positions in BHP, WES, AMP, BSL, MXG, PNA, OXR, MCR, SGM, KIL, CIY and a handful of specs - I am hoping that someone on HC does in fact follow some of the top tiered stocks that wouldn't mind sharing some insight to what stocks would be worthwhile accumulating.
I am looking at stocks with growth over 2007/8/9 and taking a longer term view.
Does anyone follow such stocks that I could research further.
