Theres been a lot of concern in regards to the depth of the resource at Rover 1, so lets get to the bottom of this (pardon the pun)
I have attached a link below which you should all read to get a better understanding of gold at depth and underground mining.
But key notes:
1. Theres a gold mine in Sth Africa that is being mined at depths of 2800-3400m! In Australia the Gwalia gold mine is mined at 1660m.
2. Underground gold mines in Australia have an average of 5.77g/t vs Open cut mines at 1.67g/t, Rover 1 is on the high side of the average.
3. The lowest cost mines generally have one factor in common - they are multi-commodity producers that benefit from by-product credits which reduce the costs of production. Mainly COPPER!
4. Evolutins Ernest Henry mine has one the lowest Gold grades 0.56g/t but has an AISC of AUD -$510oz(negative) due to the large of amounts of Copper mined alongside the gold.
Do not underestimate the Credits that CST will get from its Copper and other by-products, this is what will reduce the AISC heavily and make this mine viable and very profitable.
