@timbowls, one has to consider all types of investors, incl those without the capacity to do their homework and others who are cash rich but time poor. As an example a retired farmer in our area had a portfolio managed by an agent with strong allegience to AMP. The farmer couldnt understand what the agent was doing but trusted the agent. When the farmer changed agents, the farmer having been made aware by me of the WAM funds and in particular the WLE fund, told the agent, who promptly stated “thats a good idea with a good return” and promptly put hum into WLE, something he could have done himself. There are a lot of people out there who are frightened by the thought of managing their money and making (what is to them) huge decisions about managing money and then there are those who just dont care ! It takes all types !
