Yes very true I totally concede there are a lot of variables and individual circumstances that need to be considered. This particular investor clearly has some investment knowledge though if he has some property assets. A lot of that knowledge is pretty transferable if you get your head around share market terminology etc. It's even a classic Buffett quote that everyday investors should look at listed companies more like an apartment house (not feeling the urge to check the price everyday etc.) or a farm and less like a number on a screen.
