Restructure of Mining Operations at the Tasmania Mine

Following an in-depth review, BCD has implemented a restructure of mining operations at the Tasmania Mine. For several years the mining contractor has successfully undertaken all development activities and this contract has now been extended to include all underground activities, including stoping and trucking. The change is expected to deliver substantial cost savings.
As a result, the BCD mining workforce of 85 people has been retrenched and will be paid out their full entitlements. It is anticipated that some workers will be offered employment with the mining contractor.
