    There is an interconnector from Victoria to SA which has a max capacity of 900MW. It was the overload of that interconnector in 2016 which caused SA to go black!
    The SA peak is about 1800MW.
    All systems are built to manage the peak!
    So what SA cant get from interstate, it has to use gas for the shortfall!
    There is a 330kV line being built from Cooma to Roberton SA which will link SA to NSW called project connect.
    So in effect, if we had a gold plated transmission system every state would pay the same cost.
    I saw a video of what net zero looks like in 2050 and they are proposing a Million Volt DC like between the West coast and East coast to take advantage of solar feeding each others retrospective morning and evening peak.
    The scale of work to be done without using Nuclear is mine blowing!
    AEMO is on to it, but like the old saying, amateurs talk about battles, Generals talk about logistics!
