Interesting to read everyone's investment strategies. I guess the point of me asking the question is related to the big question as to whether it's wise to do your own research with complimentary subscription research, or to have a financial planner who will probably go with managed funds and blue chips and a small portion in specs.

Thanks for the input and would love to see others as well. As for me, I have a similar mindset as factfinder, just to preserve the bulk of the portfolio if another mishap to the financial system happens.
