share consolidation can work if the company has reached maturity . There is a business that operates profitably and there is a business case for doing so. For instance , if BHP did a consolidation it would make no difference to sp as price is driven primarily by mineral outlook , and divvies .
Otherwise , it does seem to create more height for the share price to drop ( manipulate )
