BT (the old British Telecom) has a net unfunded liability of $15bn, BT has an annual profit of over a billion pounds and a market capitalisation of over $100 billion. USing your argument, no one should invest in BT although most of the worlds major insitiutions have chosen to do so, an investment that has been quite successful for them!!

The UK government has mandated that all UK companies develop a strategy to deal with the unfunded pension, and the consensus is that the issue is being dealt with effectively. Why didnt you raise that in your post?
