Thanks Yeowie, zooma, awoonga, and Phil. I think it is mostly mind games, but can see there could be something in the efficiency argument. I'm not fully convinced of the volatility idea. If that were true it would also affect companies like the CBA which have over a billion shares on issue. My feeling is it is the size/nature/risk of the company contributing to the volatility, rather than the number of shares it has out there. But to quote: " I haven't read this in a book. I prefer to make it up as I go along and it all could be BS"...thanks for the laugh Awoonga :)
