Not sure about GBG being near to production.
GBG are starting the 85km rail spur in early 2010 and it will take about 12 months to complete.
They are expecting to start digging the DSO in the middle of 2010.
If every thing goes to plan SDL could be digging the DSO in Cameroon by first quarter to mid 2010.
As Don Lewis said about a month ago,if he had the machines on site he could start digging the DSO straight away.
My opinion on interested parties would be they do not have to lure them back.
I would imagine some have already been dropped from the list because their bids are not good enough.
They have interest from the Chinese they have said,they also said it is likely to be the Chinese who build the infrastructure as they are far lower in price with their quoting.
SDL would be silly to stop at 1 or 2 interested parties from China,they would be better off getting more Chinese companies interested and let them fight it out,that way they are likely to get a lower quote again.
