Fair comment tex but I guess where I was coming from was that Vodaphone didn't want the customer base that they sold to CMO, so I'm curious now as to why they would want a stake in the company that they sold unwanted assets to... I guess if they did decide to buy out comtel, they could run them as a wholy owned subsiduary, bit like what Optus does with Isim. It appears to be a different company (appealing to a particular market) but in reality is just rebadged optus.... The scary thing is that anyone buying out comtel at this stage will get them for a fraction of what they have paid for their customer base and other aquisitions.

One has to wonder whether the writeoffs were purely for tax purposes, or to reduce the assets, so the company didn't look too cheap.... I'm wondering if I will ever see comtel turn a profit, I've been waiting for it must be three years now... they are in the strongest position they have been since I first started following them, and their sp is almost back to what it was BEFORE they did a 20 for one consolidation, that means there has been an almost 20 fold drop in the sp... It is almost as if the market didn't realise that the 20 for one had occured, and think there was some abhorent spike in the share price, and now it has returned to normal...
