Something that I think a few GGP shareholder's have overlooked is this important fact that was pointed out to me a few months ago....
Even if you have put your life savings into a stock 12 months ago and your average holding is 2 cents...
The stock today is worth .008 or .009 cents...
Holding onto the dream of 2 cents is....a fantasy, unfortunately. GGP is worth .008 cents - you might as well sell it and take the loss and then buy back in lower. Holding on grimly expecting it to rise back to 2 cents is actually worse than selling for .008 and then buying back when it falls even further.
Anyway - I am not sure if my post will make sense to those who bought in as "investors" - but it's a very normal mind set for day traders or short term traders - your "investment" is only worth what the SP is on any given day. And if you are way underwater you might as well sell and put the money elsewhere - you can always buy GGP tomorrow or the day after....but to sit and watch it fall more and more each day...that has to hurt.
And that's why I sold a few weeks back for .009 when my average was .014
