Minority groups in any society are always marginalised.
So I actually feel very sorry for anyone that is on an average wage and renting and banking a few dollars every week, while they wait for a housing crash in Australia. Because house price growth, at the affordable end, will outpace their meagre savings over the next few years.
I don't, however, emphathise with those on high wages, who invest in shares/gold, and complain that the McMansion they like should be 600K instead of 950K. Such people can buy property anytime they want, if they lower their expectations somewhat.
