    Spiney.....From what I have been able to research, this is why conventional is so much more difficult to 'discover' than conventional - even if, once discovered, conventional is typically easier and cheaper to extract. 3D data will have given them a very clear idea on the size, shape and volume of the reservoir they are targeting - and the optimal points in which to access the reservoir. It may even indicate whether the reservoir has anything in it or not (any experts able to confirm?). However, I do not believe that seismic technology allows us to differentiate between oil and water sitting in these reserves. The only way this can be determined is by drilling.

    They would not be drilling at GB if they were not highly encouraged by what their 3D seismic is telling them.....but no one knows what is actually in the targeted reservoirs, until they get in there. If they find oil in these reservoirs, it bodes well for any reservoirs found in our acreage, due to the proximity. They are drilling near our 'checkerboard' border.
