The problem with a stoploss is that, you can get flipped after a gap down.
Ie lets say that KAR/COP go into a Trading-Halt with the SP $8.00, then come out and announce that they are very sorry but there is really no gas at P1, P2 or anywhere else they have acreage (stupid theoretical case for illustrative purposes).
Then trading resumes at $1.50 share . . . well you will get cashed out at $1.50, so whats the point of the stop?
I'm more interested in a guaranteed stop-loss, like many of the CFD providers offer, but despite access to range of professional platforms, and even with etensive collateral on significant fpo's, I can not find any providers that will provide a guaranteed stop loss.
You don't blame them though, If you could say place a guaranteed stop loss at $7.40 you would buy another 100,000 units at $8 and the maximum loss is $60k, but the upside is $500k+ in the next few weeks!
Anybody know any guaranteed stop loss providers? Ones that will take 6-figure positions though, not small token trades.
