    If China is preparing for a share conversion surely this is good news.

    If they thought the company was doomed they would just cash out and move on. If they have been pushing the SP down to maximize the number of converted shares, once this is done then they would then have an even greater interest in either taking over the whole company or seeing the SP rise. Win/win either way if this all proves to be the case.
