My point about acquisitions was that there is a surge of realised profits in early years that matches the assumptions but this is followed by a fall in profits to below the level in the acquisition assumptions or market assumptions. People are starting to realise this and revaluing IOOF down.
On the other point about trustees selling to IOOF, it is about how trusted IOOF is seen to be from now on. It is not about the amount of $8m. Go back to what started the problems for AMP at the Royal commission and you will see it was about $5m.
You can keep looking for positives or you can decide that the market is behaving in a reasonably rational way and pricing in the known information, including perceived risk.
