Thank you to all the contributors to one of the better HC threads - I find it very educational!
I often say that “if something doesn’t make sense you don’t know all the facts” and IFL is just such a case.
IMO the share price doesn’t reflect the basic financial facts. In the spirit of trying to find out something I don’t know I have taken another look at the Board and management and compared it with that of Perpetual Trustees. What strikes me is that IFL’s Directors seem to be relatively “lightweight” for an ASX 100 company and certainly compared with PPT. All bar one have been appointed in the last few years. Chris Kelaher is clearly a first class operator but his recent RC performance might suggest that he is prone to arrogance. With a strong, long standing, possibly somewhat arrogant CEO and a relatively weak Board could this be a case of management capture?
