Yes, it is SIM enabled and direct WiFi tethered for connecting to your smartphone or smartwatch.

And yes, the user can control it from their phone/watch like a normal drone, but the whole idea of the selfie drone is that it is autonomous, following you around based on the tether/facial recognition.
