IOTA may be available to buy on coinspot.com.au. The way I have bought my crypto is by:

Open a coinbase account (referral link: https://www.coinbase.com/join/5a310396baf1f200e4a721d7)
Purchase Ether/Bitcoin
Open a binance account
Transfer ether/bitcoin from your coinbase wallet to your binance wallet
Trade the bitcoin/Ether for IOTA

It does definitely seem a bit daunting at first as you're getting used to how it all works so start off small. Honestly if you're at this stage the best thing you can do is plenty of research. There is so much misinformation floating around it's insane (just look at this thread). Just remember that this is pretty much gambling, so don't bet on what you aren't prepared to lose.
