Hi Tradealot!

It has always been my understanding that if your stock opens higher than the previous days high this is known as a "Full Gap Up".

Similarly if it opens lower than the previous days low this is known as a "Full Gap Down"

However, if it opens higher than yesterday's close but not higher than yesterday's high, then this is still a "Partial Gap Up". And so most analysts tend to take the Partial Gap Up/Down as the more concrete definition of a gap.

Haha I know we're all fed up with talking about gaps but I'm genuinely fascinated by how differently everyone here is seeing gaps in charts. I've always thought it to be a straight forward definition due to the fact that gaps are made out of market hours and filled within live market hours.

Regardless.... cool haha IOU is a beast in the making either way.
