This is what HC Admin wrote..
You may notice that we have made a change to each post. It now displays the first part of the IP address from which the person is posting. While not perfect it will make it harder for multiple nics to have conversations with another one of their nics.
It is totally secure and there is no concern to people about hackers. To pick a persons IP address from what has been displayed would be 1 in 998,001
