They may have sold the ip in the countries for which they have patents but there is nothing to stop the new entity pursuing opportunities in different markets. The relationships with key parties around the world would still be able to be exploited and I'm sure they will be.
Chances are the ip will be back in the stable and we will have a cleaner situation with great upside despite the dilution we have seen.
