iphone and other jokes at strathfield

Strathfield proudly tells everyone it is usually the top or 2nd biggest Optus reseller in Australia. Howver when I rang for an i-phone today I was told that the whole company only got about 500-1000 i-phones to spread across their 90+ stores.
Apparently Optus World and Telechoice are teh biggest Optus re-sellers and got the lions share of the handsets. For example the guy in the Melbourne city store told me they had sold the whopping tally of 11 i-phones before they ran out and at CHadstone it was 5. and to think the company is pinning their hopes on i-phones to turn the business around. They did tell me I could sign up today and wait 1-2 weeks and get one but surely everyone who is keen will go to one of the other vendors.

As far as stats go OptusWorld stores sign up about 50 phone plans a week and Strathfield do 12. What a joke. When will their marketing team finally realise that no one knows they sell mopbile phnes becuase they dont advertise it. Everyone still thinks of them as the place to buy car audio for hoons (which they do and is profitable but isnt their main line of business).

Here are some other C-grade marketing initiatives of the company:
1) Franchising: No one would even know they franchsie unless they visited their website. Even then it is hard to find and they still have a "blank" picture on the link to "What is available".
2) Phone number: I dialled their 13 1177 number to get connected to my nearest store and of course it just rang out.

If they can't get simple things right then what the 'ell is the poker playing new CEO going to do to turn the stores around? The guy doesnt even want the job and genius Richard Poole wants to go on an acquisition spree. May I ask who is gonig to fund this? How about getting your own house in order before messing with others.

The only positive came from one employee who told me the stores are better than it was 12 months ago because they are selling better quality product (Sony, JVC, Pentax) and are going for quality not quantity. He also made a joke about the fact that all the CEO's get fired or quite 'cos they are hopeless. Hah!
