For many people in IT, Aussie Broadband is the new iiNet.

iiNet was a quality player back in the day, rolling out their own DSLAMs, supplying Annex M without a fuss, providing a great online toolbox and maintaining mirrors to some obscure servers in their freezone. Their support staff were knowledgeable and could sometimes detect when a fellow technician was on the line rather than treat everyone like babies.

Those were the days you could use your own devices to setup your perfect network and VOIP-based phone systems.
Ever since they were bought out by TPG, the service went downhill and the company culture changed dramatically.

Last time I checked, unless customers use iiNet supplied equipment, they are unable to configure VOIP - that is simply not good enough for those who want to use better quality hardware or have elaborate setups.
