Ah ok Sally. In my case my middle name was omitted from the share purchase application and hence was told needed to change in writing etc.
As you suggest an application that includes a HIN and the applicant name is exactly as per their HIN account then of course Automic should correct it as you say. Not good enough by Automic if they haven't done their due diligence and thus inconvenienced GRL shareholders.
Shares issued in different names (even slight differences) cannot be consolidated unless the names are corrected to match exactly, or a shareholder is willing to pay a fee for an off market transfer. I've taken my medicine and lodged my amendment via email. Once the names match between SRN and HIN I can arrange transfer quite easily via Commsec online account.
