Don't agree - I'd expect to see 100% escrow for pre-IPO, management & other similar holders.
You have to have strong rules around investing and this is one of mine that I simple can't let go, always want to see 100% escrow with a staggered release with price targets over 12-24 months.
Without strong escrow arrangements IPO holders will always suffer, never have seen a case to prove otherwise.
Think about the flipside here for a moment, if you don't escrow much then the IPO looks like nothing more than an exit strategy for existing investors at the cost of new investors. If this is the case then you really need begin questioning why the business is listing in the first place.

Pre-IPO investing is a totally different conversation however if I were offered 50% release of pre-IPO stock, I would jump in eyes closed, easy money.
