Why would Shaws be buying?

It may not be obvious but the BNPL hype and momentum is gone. Just look at the share prices of other listed BNPL stocks.

These late comers are just junk businesses trying
to capitalise on the hype and relieve investors of their capital. They will likely not turn a profit for years, if ever, and will need to constantly raise more money to stay afloat. There simply isn't enough room in the market for so many BNPL offerings and that's before any of the big guns have entered the space or the inevitable regulation.
