Good article in the AFR today where buy now, pay later providers such as Afterpay, Latitude and Openpay would cap late fees and introduce stricter customer screening under a draft code of practice the industry hopes will answer calls for stricter consumer protections. Once there is a formalised, regulated structure then there will be more certainty that these companies wont be hit with some left field political curveballs.
